Great Meet for Cross Country

The GCA Cross Country team ran this past Saturday, 21 September, at the Deerfield-Windsor Invitational at Albany State University-West @ Darton. 

Leading the way for the Varsity Boys was Wyatt Carpenter, who placed 13th out of 267 runners. The top five finishers were Wyatt, Gabe Parker, Daniel Jones, Jack Holden, and Chasen Wood. Those 5 all set personal course records. The Cougar Varsity Boys placed 8th out of 18 schools of all sizes.

Leading the Varsity Girls was Lilah Widner, followed by Abigail Anderson, Emellia Woodrum, and Ruth Carraway, and all the Varsity Girls set personal course records.

For the Middle School Boys, Owen Earnest led the team, followed by Dawson Worsley, Ben York, Cade Wells, and Preston Barnett. Ben York and Jay Lanier both set personal records for the course.

Representing GCA's Middle School Girls was Caroline Grubbs, and she set a personal record pace for the year.

The Cougar Varsity runners will participate in the Southland Academy Invitational this coming Saturday.
