Coat & Blanket Drive

As the temperatures dip and as recovery from Hurricane Michael continues, Southwest Georgia Farm Credit, Grace Christian Academy and Five Points Cleaners are teaming up to hold a coat and blanket drive to help those in need.
Gently used and new blankets, coats, scarves, and winter hats can be dropped off at any Southwest Georgia Farm Credit office, or at Grace Christian Academy in Bainbridge, through Monday, December 17th.
Special thanks to our long-time blanket and coat drive partner, Five Points Cleaners, for cleaning all the gently used items.

GCA Donates over 900 items in Coat Drive

GCA's 10th grade class participated in the annual Coat & Blanket Drive again this year.   For only two weeks in November, they were able to collect over 900 items.  Carley Godwin organized the drive and worked with Stephanie Poitevint from the DCBOE to make the connection between the schools and social workers in our community so families in Decatur County will be a little warmer!  Mrs. Worsley's 4th grade class won the party and many, many thanks to Rick Ragan with 5 Points Cleaners for graciously cleaning the multitude of coats, blankets, and other warm clothing.

Coat Drive....HUGE Success!!

Many, many thanks to all of our GCA Students and Parent for making the Annual Farm Credit Coat and Blanket Drive a HUGE Success!!  As of the deadline, Oct. 31st, GCA had collected 430 items for this year!  Totally Awesome!!

Annual Farm Credit Coat & Blanket Drive

Thank You

GCA’s Student Government Association and Mrs. Harrell’s 4th grade class would like to take a moment and thank all of the teachers, students, family, and friends of GCA who contributed to the Annual Farm Credit Coat & Blanket Drive.  When asked to meet a community need, GCA stepped up willingly.  Last week’s challenge was to collect 146 additional items by October 31st in order to meet the original goal of collecting 300 items.  GCA didn’t just meet the challenge, we almost doubled that number and collected 276 additional items!  This brought the final total of items collected by Grace Christian Academy to 430!!!!  Wow!  And the timing couldn’t be better since the cold weather has begun.  Needs are already being met as some coats and blankets have already been distributed.  But of course, God’s timing is always perfect!

Once again, thanks to all who contributed!  Your willingness to share what you have with others has helped make this community effort a tremendous success.  Because of you, many families will be able to have a warmer winter.

“He (John) replied to them, ‘The one who has two shirts must share with someone who has none, and the one who has food must do the same.’”

Annual Coat Drive - Oct. 10th thur Oct. 31st

Grace Christian Academy is again helping with the Annual Farm Credit Coat and Blanket Drive.  The Drive kicked-off on October 10th and Mrs. Butler's 3rd grade class enjoyed hosting a fashion show of ideas for the GCA Elementary students this past Wednesday.  Acceptable items includenew and used coats, blankets, sweaters, scarves, hats, and gloves.  Items will be distrubted locally and Five Points Cleaners is providing the cleaning services for the used items. Other drop-off locations include Farm Credit, Five Points Cleaners, Decatur Auto Parts, and Auto Zone; however, we want GCA to collect the most!

This is a wonderful opportunity for us to make a difference in someone's life and our community has a whole!  Please support Mrs. Buter's 3rd grade class and bring your donations to the drop-box in the GCA foyer.
