2012 Grandparent's Day - Dec. 18th

2012 Winter Festival "Rained" Cash for GCA

Many thanks to our awesome 2012 Winter Festival committee for making this year's Winter Festival exciting, new, and successful!  Rain was the theme for the day; however, it did not keep people from coming and enjoying all the new kids activites and games, the excellent student art show, the wonderful (huge) silent auction, the exciting live auction, the cool GCA general store, the creative
t-shirt, and the great food.  God continues to bless us each year and this year was no different as we were able to net out around $40,000 for GCA.

This of course would not have been possible without all our sponors and the support of many of our local businesses as well as all the dedicated volunteers including classroom moms, supportive teachers, creative and helpful students and of course you - the parents and students that came out and shared your time, resources and money! WOW...What an excited time!!

3rd Graders Hike Mounds

Mrs. Butler's 3rd Grade class had the opportunity to tour, visit, and even climb the Kolomoki Mounds in Blakely, GA before Thanksgiving.  Kolomoki Mounds is the oldest and largest Woodland Indian site in the Southeastern United States.  It was occupied by the American Indians from 350 to 750 a.d.  Our students enjoyed touring the museum and learning about the Indian culture of that time, they had the opportunity to climbing the largest mound,  had a picnic down by the lake and finished the day with a round of minature golf.  Fun Day!

Thanksgiving Feast...Look Who Came to Visit!

GCA hosted some special guest for Thanksgiving this year.  Several Indians and Pilgrims came to enjoy a Thanksgiving Feast on our playground.  Many, many thanks to the Kindergarten parents that created a special day for our children!!
