GCA Swimmers do well at State

Timothy Longs

Congratulations to Timothy Longs and Thad Whitaker for their accomplishments this year in swimming.  They both did well enough to attend the GICAA State Championship.  

Timothy finished 3rd in the 50 yd breaststroke, 4th in the 50 yd butterfly, and 6th in the 100 IM.  Thad ended up 12th in 500 free, 20th in 100 backstroke, and 29th in 50 free.  Congratulations Cougars!!

GCA Swimmers Make State

This past Saturday, Thad Whittaker and Timothy Longs swam in the Calvary Christian Invitational in Columbus, GA. They did very well.

Timothy placed 3rd in the 100 IM, 3rd in the 50 Breast Stroke and 2nd in the 50 Butterfly. Thad placed 20th in the 50 free, 6th in the 100 Breast Stroke and 3rd in the 500 Free.

They both have done well enough to advance.

GCA Swimmers Move on to State!

Congratulations to Thad Whitaker and Timothy Longs as they have earned a spot at the State Swim Meet in January at Georgia Tech!!  Thad will compete in the 500 freestyle, 200 freestyle, and 100 backstroke.  Timothy will compete in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 50 butterfly.

GCA Swimmers Qualify for State

Saturday,November 12th, GCA swimmers attended the Deerfield Invitational in Albany at Darton State College.

In JV Christina Longs swam the 50 free placing 7th, 100 free placing 8th and the 50 backstroke placing 9th.

Timothy Longs swam the 50 free placing 2nd, 100 free placing 2nd and the 50 butterfly placing 2nd

In Varsity Thad Whitaker swam the 200 free placing 3rd, 50 free placing 6th and the 500 free placing 2nd.

Thad's performance in the 200 free and 500 free and Timothy's performance in the 50 free, 100 free and 50 butterfly were fast enough to make cuts for the state meet at Ga Tech in January of 2017.  Congratulations GCA Swimmers!!

Congratulations to Thad and Christie Whitaker and Timothy and Christina Longs for competing at the State GRPA swim meeting on July 16th.

Whitaker Swims to State

Congratulations to Thad Whitaker for making the State cut in the 200 Freestyle at the Tift County Invitational on Dec. 12th. Thad will swim in the Lee County Invitational Jan. 9th and the State meet is January 30th at Georgia Tech.
