6th grade aqua adventure
GCA’s sixth graders, teacher Kathy Bennett, and several parents recently caravanned to Atlanta to visit The Georgia Aquarium. The class and adults toured the five large freshwater and coral reef ecosystems included in the world’s largest aquarium. Each group focused on one main gallery to collect scientific data to be compiled after the kids returned home. Every group; however, did monitor the Belluga whales station for certain behavior patterns. Watching and touching the sea creatures proved a lot more fun than analyzing and writing about them. The colors and diversity of the beautiful creatures and their interaction in their underwater habitats help the kids to appreciate God’s world. A 3-D movie enlightened the kids upon our responsibility to help maintain the balance of nature in our water ecosystems. It was a fun learning experience!
