Spaghetti Bridges
The 8th grade science
students, under the direction of Mrs. Smith, had the opportunity to explore the
world of engineering while building bridges out of house-hold spaghetti. The
students were assigned teams and each team had to research, design, and construct
their own bridge. After the bridges were built, they were tested for strength
by adding weights of 2 and 5 lbs increments. The strongest bridge, which was
built by the all girls team of - Bailee Ann Womble, Carley Brogdon, Rhiannon Brock. Their bridge held 48 1/2 lbs before it broke.
