K5 Students Enjoy Bowling Party
GCA Students that sold 10 magazines or more during our fall fundraiser were rewarded with a Bowling Party at the YMCA Bowling Alley. The K5 students really enjoyed this experience!

SGA Host Successful Food Drive

| Many thanks to all the donations made to our SGA's Canned Food Drive. Over 140 cans were donated and given to the First United Methodist Church Food Bank on Wednesday, Oct. 3rd. The Food Bank give out over 25 bags of food weekly. Top Magazine Winners

| Many, many thanks to these 3 young ladies!! They were our top sellers for magazine and cookie dough this year. Our first place winner was first grader, Anna Belle Adams as she sold (60) items. Our second place winner was Lydia Bentley, who is in K4, and she sold 47 items. Our third place winner was sixth grader, Abigail Mills (who is kneeling) and she sold 36 items. Thank you girls for helping us reach our goal!! |

5th Grade Cell Projects
Mrs. Jones 5th grade class has been studying cells in science this past couple of weeks. The students were asked to build 3-D models of cells to assess their understanding of the material and learn about the functions of the different organelles with a cell. Mrs. Jones noted that this project helps her students understand the complexity of a cell and that it certainly must be purposefully designed!
Yearbook Signing Party this Tuesday - Oct. 2nd
The 2011-12 yearbook staff will be having a yearbook signing party on Tuesday, October 2nd in the gym. It will be held from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Refreshments and accessories for yearbooks will also be for sale. Plan on sending about $5 with your child so that they can enjoy the party to the fullest!! Don't forget to bring a pen so all your friends can sign!!
SGA Hosting Canned Food Drive
The Student Government Association is doing a canned food drive. Please bring in some canned food items (pop open cans) to help feed the community. The food drive will run from September 25th - Oct. 3rd.
Dance Team & Cheerleaders host Breakfast
The GCA Dance Team and GCA Cheerleaders hosted a
Pancake Breakfast on Wednesday, Sept. 26th.
Students and parents enjoyed sharing a great breakfast!!
1st Graders Thank Officers
On Sept. 11th, Grace Christian Academy's first grade teacher, Mrs. Kelly Harrell spent some time explaining to her class about what happened on 9\11 and why its important to America. They read a book about the event, disccussed the role of the Police Officers and Fire Fighters, and also prayed for those who were affected by this tragic event. Her class took it a step further and decided to make thank you cards and personally deliver them to our local Police Officers and Fire Fighters along with a platter of cookies.
