4th & 5th Grades Learn how to make Candles
Many thanks to the wonderful ladies at The Refinery for coming to Grace and teaching our 4th and 5th graders how to make their own candles. They had a wonderful time learning about the process and about the mission of The Refinery and Still Waters.
The ladies of Still Waters create hand poured soy candles at their shop (The Refinery) in downtown Bainbridge. Still Waters is a temporary home for displaced women and their children. Proceeds from The Refinery help support their home and their misson.

Vince Dooley Announces Recipients
Carly Godwin, Sam McRae, and Mark Loeffler have been named the Vincent J. Dooley Award winners for Grace Christian Academy and Bainbridge High School. Sam McRae has been selected as one of the ten finalists (from across the state of Georgia) for the Vincent J. Dooley Scholarship .
The scholarship winner will be announced on May 12th at the 11th Annual Dooley Awards luncheon held at the College Football Hall of Fame.
The Vincent J. Dooley Awards and Scholarships are presented annually by Athletes for a Better World and the Georgia High School Association. Each year, every high school in Georgia is invited to select one male and one female senior athlete to receive the Vincent J. Dooley Award .
The award recipients are chosen for their distinguished individual character, outstanding teamwork, and citizenship. The recipients of the Dooley Awards in every high school are eligible to become candidates for the Vincent J. Dooley Scholarship – a four year, $1,000 per year, college scholarship for one male and one female athlete, plus a one-time $500 donation to the selected charity of each of the two scholarship recipients.
The award recipients complete an online process and are reviewed by a selection committee, who choose 10 boys and 10 girls as finalists for the Dooley Scholarship. The Dooley Scholarship is then presented to one male and one female athlete. All award recipients as well as finalists for the scholarships will be invited to a luncheon to receive their awards.
