Strickland - Head of School
We are pleased to announce that the Board of Directors have named Charlie Strickland Head of School for GCA. All the administrators will continue their current roles ( Charlie Strickland - Head of School/Upper School Principal, Steve Murr - Lower School Principal/Athletics, Joan Shiver Pre-School Principle/Counselor, and Cile Warr - Director of Development). The Board felt that they needed a point person, but we will continue to function as an administrative team. Therefore, parents please remember that your first contact should be the appropriate school-level administrator.
Mr. Strickland has been involved at GCA for more than five years, having started the strings program with Jeff Eenigenburg in 2008. He has a master's degree in music and an administrative certificate from Georgia Southern University and is an elder at Grace Church. Before coming to GCA, he taught part-time at Bainbridge College after retiring from the public school system, where he had experience teaching at all levels and served as the literary coordinator, choral director, and band director. In 2001, he was named Star Teacher at Ware County High School. Mr. Strickland was in the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam.

Homecoming - Campus Spirit Parade - Jan. 25th
The campus parade will begin promptly at 1:00 p.m. in front of Perry Memorial Gym. In order to insure for safety we will only be allowing motorized riding toys (power wheels), wagons, walkers, and a golf cart per homeroom. The motorized riding toys participants will follow the Parade Marshall (as a group).
The walkers and wagon participants will proceed with their designated homerooms. Please note that bikes, tricycles, and scooters will not be allowed. It is our desire to have a golf cart float for each homeroom. If you have a golf cart and would like to enter it, please contact your homeroom teacher.
Golf cart float drivers must be in 8th grade or above. All golf cart floats must have at least one adult on board. All entries will be given a number. Parents can show the number to the parking attendant in order to retrieve the vehicle after the parade and pep rally.
The deadline for parade entries will be not later than next Tuesday. A complete line-up, parade route map, and other details will be given out on Wednesday or next week.

K5 Students Meet. Staff Sgt. Stone
Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Dunn's K5 students enjoyed a special visit from Army Staff Sergeant, Edward Stone. Mr. Stone visited with the students and shared with them interesting things about the army and spent time answering lots of questions. He then gave them the opportunity to try on portions of his uniform and see his military vehicle. The kids enjoyed a wonderful morning meeting and learning from Staff Sergeant Stone!
