3rd Graders Hike Mounds
Mrs. Butler's 3rd Grade class had the opportunity to tour, visit, and even climb the Kolomoki Mounds in Blakely, GA before Thanksgiving. Kolomoki Mounds is the oldest and largest Woodland Indian site in the Southeastern United States. It was occupied by the American Indians from 350 to 750 a.d. Our students enjoyed touring the museum and learning about the Indian culture of that time, they had the opportunity to climbing the largest mound, had a picnic down by the lake and finished the day with a round of minature golf.
