The newly created GCC (Grace Christian Connection), formally known as the PTF, will be hosting the back-to-school picnic next week for all parents and students. Please mark your calendars for next Thursday, August 6th for an exciting afternoon beginning @ 5:00 p.m. with the Meet & Greet followed up by the picnic at 6:00 p.m. in the gym. At the meet & greet you will have an opportunity to meet with your teacher, visit your homeroom and receive all your information and schedules. At the picnic, you can expect to enjoy a great hotdog along with chips, coookie and a drink followed by a short program informing you of all the exciting things happening at your school....Way to Go GCA!!

Cheerleading....Open Gym Dates Announced!
Coach Caroline would like to announce open gym times for the month of July. All upcoming 2nd - 12th grade GCA students are welcome to come out Friday, July 24th and July 31st from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. to work on or brush up on tumbling and stunt building skills. If you know of anyone who might be interested, please help us spread the word!

Welcome Mary Lindsey Jones
Congratulations to Sara and Phillip Jones on the birth of their beautiful new daughter - Mary Lindsey Jones. She was born on July 1st at 8:37 a.m. She weighed 7 lbs and was 19" long. Congratulations and God Bless!!

Volleyball Camp Scheduled: July 27th - 29th
Kelly Files and Nicki Green will be conducting a GCA Volleyball Camp on July 27-29. The camp is designed our middle and varsity teams. The varsity camp will run from 8:45 – 4:00, Mon-Wed and the middle school camp will run from 5:30 – 8:30 Mon and Tues evenings. Both camps will be held at GCA.
Coach Files is entering her sixth season at University of Oklahoma and seventh as an assistant coach. Her responsibilities with the Sooner program include recruiting, conditioning, on-the-floor coaching and administrative work. Following an outstanding playing career at Southern Miss, Files finished her career ranked among the top 10 leaders in several statistical categories. She was a four-year starter and letter winner and led the team in kills, service aces and blocks her final two seasons. During her playing career, she was named to several all-tournament teams.
Coach Green joined the University of Oklahoma volleyball program in 2006 after serving as an assistant coach at UNC Charlotte. Her primary responsibilities include handling OU's team travel arrangements while assisting with on-campus recruiting, alumni contact, booster development, summer camps and administrative duties. In her playing days, she was named to Southern Miss' All-30 Volleyball Team and led the Golden Eagles to the most wins in school history with a 26-7 record in 2003. She topped the team in kills and ranked third in aces that same year. She recorded 1,034 kills and 929 digs in her career and ranks in the school's all-time Top 15 in kills, aces, digs and attempts. DC Fundraiser Meeting - July 14th
A brainstorming meeting for high school parents interested in fundraisers for the 2010 Washington trip will be held Tuesday, July 14th @ 10:00 a.m. in Room 212. This is open to those already registered as well as parents who want to send their child but not yet registered. Individual and group possibilities will be discussed, so please plan to bring any and all ideas you might have for this wonderful trip.
