The GCA Cross Country team ran this past Saturday, 29 September, at the Southland Academy Invitational in Americus.
The Cougar Varsity Boys brought home the first place trophy, and leading the team was Wyatt Carpenter, who placed 2nd overall. The top five finishers were Wyatt, Gabe Parker, Jack Holden, Chasen Wood, and Daniel Jones, and all of these boys placed in the Top 10 overall. Chasen set a personal all-time record for a 5K race. Also representing GCA were Jackson Davis, Ben York, Garrett Donalson, and Isaac Friedman, and Jackson, Ben and Isaac all ran personal-best 5k races.
Leading the Varsity Girls was Lilah Widner, followed by Abigail Anderson, Emellia Woodrum, Callie Widner, Brooke Tobin, and Ruth Carraway.
The Cougar Varsity runners will participate in the Westover Invitational on Saturday, October 13 in Albany.
