GCA Welcomes Steve Murr

GCA has grown and developed in many ways over the past several years. These improvements, in concert with our ongoing accreditation, have led the school board to expand the administration team of GCA. As we begin the 2010-2011 school year in August, we will have two administrators. Each will work with the school board to oversee various aspects of the school.
Joan Shiver, who has served as the school-wide Principal for the past five years, is excited to specialize in the role of Lower School Principal and School Counselor. She will oversee Preschool and Elementary, and be the school-wide Guidance Counselor.
Steve Murr has recently been hired as our Upper School Principal and Athletic Director. He will oversee Middle and High School, and coordinate all our athletic programs. Steve comes to us from Grace Christian School in Sanford, NC. He has a Master's degree in Education/Adminstration from Liberty University. His background includes Principal, Teacher, Athletic Director and Coach. Steve and his wife Angela have three children.
2010-11 is going to be an exciting year for Grace Christian Academy! With your continued prayers and support, along with our dynamic administrative team and our wonderful staff, we will be able to take the next step in "Growing Grace Fully."

QSP Magazine Sales

Please remember this summer that our fall fundraiser is our QSP Magazine program; therefore, we encourage all of our parents, grandparents, familes and friends not to renew your subscriptions until August. We are aware that the different magazine companies continue to send you renewal notices but we ask that you please wait to do your renewal during our sales drive so our students and GCA will receive the credit. QSP Magazine Sales will kick-off Wednesday, August 18th.

GCA Summer Office Hours

The GCA Office is open this summer from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The office is closed on Friday.

Bonnie's Cabbage Program

3rd Grader, Julian Martin was very successful growing his Bonnie cabbage this spring with a weight of 13lbs and 10oz. Bonnie Plants out of Union Springs, AL sponsors this program each year for all 3rd graders. They give each student one cabbage plant to take home and grow in their garden. Once the cabbage head matures students are asked to take a photo of their cabbage and turn it in to their teachers. Successful cabbages are then sent in for a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship. Good luck Julian...you did an awesome job!!
