"9 seconds. That is how long it took for Scott Rigsby's life to come crashing down around him. 16 hours, 42 minutes, 46 seconds. That's how long it took for Scot Rigsby to make history." The GCA students, faculty and staff set in awe this morning as they listened to Scott Rigsby tell his story. Scott is the first double amputee to complete the world-famous Hawaiian Ironman Triathlon and thanks to the GCA Foundation he was able to come and share his inspiring story with our students.

Scott Rigsby to Visit Grace - Aug. 19th

An Ironman Triathlete and a double amputee, Scott Rigsby has accomplished the Unthinkable.
At age 18, Rigsby was thrown from a truck while working a summer job right here in Southwest GA and dragged over 380 feet under a three-ton trailer. After losing his right leg, he endured more than 26 surgeries in 10 years before finally deciding to "free" himself from being a professional patient and remove his left leg. After years of searching for a purpose, a personal encounter opened up a door for Rigsby to go through.
Scott Rigsby will be at GCA on Thursday, August 19th at 10:00 a.m. to speak to our students. All friends and parents are invited to attend and hear Scouts amazing story and how he accomplished the "Unthinkable."
