McDonald Attends NYL State Conference

Congratulations to Grant McDonald for being nominated and selected to participate in the National Youth Leadership State Conference (NYLSC) in Atlanta December 9th - 12, 2010. Grant was nominated by his teachers and selected based on his strong academic record, leadership skills and interest in civic participation.

The NYLSC is a unique, life-changing experience specifically geared toward 8th and 9th grade students readying for this critical phase in their life. The intese four-day curriculum focuses on eight core leadership power tools. Those tools are communication, conflict resolution, decision making, goal setting, group dynamics, leadership techniques, project management and self awareness. Grant joins other scholars from Grace who have previously attended: Emily Hiers, Jana Simmons, Taylor McDonald, Christina Greene, Abbey Smith, JD Poole, and other Grace graduates. These young leaders gain maturity, depth of character, and new found leadership skills to bring home and share with their school and community.
