Gym Update

Dear GCA Families,

We have some good news to share with you! The structural repair of the gym has been completed and we received a certificate of occupancy from the city of Bainbridge this week. Engineers have inspected the repairs and approved the work that was done.

As a result, we will be able to begin using the gym again. Even though the gym is ready, our plan is to finish the season playing our basketball games at West Bainbridge. There was much work involved in preparing the West Bainbridge gym for the volleyball and basketball seasons and with less than two weeks left in the season, we believe it's best to finish there.

With that said, we do anticipate using the gym for practices, physical education classes, and some other activities in the very near future. Possibly, as early as next week.

GCA is thankful to the Lord for how quickly this has been accomplished. Although the gym is structurally ready for use, there are still projects yet to be completed. The windows in the gym will be replaced and the exterior of the building will be painted. You will see the fence around the gym coming down soon as well.

Work on this project has been possible because of the gifts and pledges received through our "Building to Serve" campaign. I hope you have noticed that our thermometer in the parking lot reflects that we are at 55% of the funds needed for Phase 1. If you have not made a pledge or gift yet, please consider participating. The more who participate, the more we will be able to accomplish.
