K4 Students Learn About GA Animals























DNR Officer Tony Cox thrilled some of our Pre-K students with skins from many different animals native to GA. But the biggest thrill was getting to touch a real live alligator!

Mock Legislature in Session May 10th

GCA will be hosting the 2011 Mock Legislature Day on Tuesday, May 10th from 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.. Student from Bainbridge Middle will be joining us that day to participate in the debates. The Senate will be in session in the old sanctuary and the House will be in the gym.
Please feel free to come out and watch these talented students debate!

Student Art Selected for Decatur County Art Show

Students in grades 1st - 12th recently submitted artwork for the upcoming Decatur County Student Art Show and many of our students were selected for the show.
The opening reception is Sunday, May 1st from 2-4pm at the Firehouse Gallery in downtown Bainbridge. The gallery will be open the following week on Monday, May 2nd through Friday, May 6th from 4-6pm and on Saturday, May 7th from 10-2 and Sunday, May 8th from 1-3pm.

Boosterthon Pledges - 2nd Due Date...May 6th









Congratulations to all the students who supported this year's Boosterthon Fun Run. We have only received 54% of our pledge money so our 2nd turn-in date is Friday, May 6th. Please help us reach 100% which would mean $13,248 for our school!






....Here are some Fun Facts:



  • 65% of students participated financially


  • Pledges from over 750 sponsors came from 25 states and 4 countries


  • Of the thousands of pledges, only 21% came from parents and 79% came from other donors


  • The students ran over 6,600 laps totaling just over 416 miles!

After all the laps were entered and pledges counted the total GROSS amount pledged to GCA is $25,447.00. GCA will receive 52% of collections......Please Collect Your Pledges!!!!

Hollis Honored.."If I Were Mayor"

Ryles Hollis, a sixth grader at GCA and son of Kenny and Beth Hollis was honored at the Bainbridge City Council meeting last Tuesday for his "If I were a Mayor" essay. Some of the items Ryles stated he would do if he was Mayor included: organize Neighborhood Watch program in the city, look out for the disabled and the elderly, work hard to get a new movie theater, host an exotic food festival to attrack visitors and work to foster community unity.

Way to go Ryles....Congratulations!

Wax Museum - April 28th






The Grace Wax Museum is coming back! On Thursday, April 28th all sixth and seventh graders will be participating and they will be displaying their historical figures from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. for all GCA Students and from 11:45 - 12:45 for the public. The museum will be in the hallways of the school. Please come out and see this fun, educational event!

GCA to Host Regionals

Grace will host the regional tournament for the PCC East Region in baseball and softball. Our Baseball team will play a double header on April 28th at 5:00 p.m. at the Climax fields. If we split with Emmanuel we will play a championship game on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
The Girls Softball team will play the championship game on Saturday, April 30th. Come out and support your Cougars!!!

NJHS Inducts 18


Grace Christian Academy's National Junior Honor Society inducted 20 new members at an Induction ceremony on March 29, 2011. NJHS officers performed the Induction Ritual recognizing the candidates for academic, character, and conduct excellence. Officers for the group include President Daniel Ray, Vice President Shellby Woodrum, Secretary Kendi Castoro, Treasurer Kaitlin Adams, Reporter Jordan Davis, and Project Chairmen Bo Bailey and Brent Warr.
